Part One: Most Common Skincare Mistakes.

Did you know, your skin is the largest organ? It should be treated like royalty! Here’s part one of a few skin-care mistakes that make your skin feel not so royal.

Not Washing Your Hands Before Washing Your Face.

Imagine being on the subway, touching the hand rail, the turn style, the door handle into your apartment building, getting home and going straight to washing your face? The amount of germs, viruses and bacteria that are built up on our hands from touching different public surfaces (and our phones) is unimaginable. Need I say more? Make sure your hands are clean before washing your face.

Applying Your Products Incorrectly.

Many don't know there is a correct way to apply your skincare products. ⁣Applying your products in the correct order is key for maximum product penetration. If you’re applying your skincare in the incorrect order, you will not see the best results from your regimen. Always apply your skincare from thinnest to thickest, and remember water based products always go before oil based products.

Stopping Your Skincare At Your Chin.

Are you neglecting your neck? Chances are the answer is yes, and you’re not the only one. Sometimes, we tend to stop our skincare at our jawline. You could have the most perfect skincare routine, but if you’re not applying all of those amazing products to your face only, all your hard work may be for nothing! The easiest ways to keep your neck looking youthful is to apply your face products all the way down your neck and to apply sunscreen to your neck every day. These 2 simple steps require minimal effort and will keep your neck looking youthful.

Using Your Fingers Instead Of A Spatula.

Keep it clean! Use a skincare spatula to remove product out of a jar of skincare to keep your product free of whatever bacteria may be lingering on your fingertips. Spatulas help scoop out the recommended amount of product so that you’re not using too much.

Skipping SPF.

This is actually a huge no-no. Sun protection is the most important way to protect your skin from UVA (aging) and UVB (burning) rays that are the causes of premature aging,

Even with all the effective skin treatments available, the most basic one is still the best - prevention. Prevention is the first line of defense when it comes to skin health and slowing down the aging process. The better care you take of your skin now, the fewer skin treatments you’ll need later.
