The Basics
What is a Chemical Peel?
A chemical peel is a professional skin resurfacing treatment designed to exfoliate dead skin cells, improve skin texture, and promote faster cell turnover. Using professional peel solutions, this treatment helps reduce fine lines, acne, discoloration, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone while revealing smoother, brighter, healthier-looking skin.
Chemical peels are tailored to your skin type and concerns by a licensed Esthetician to ensure safe and effective results. A series of treatments is recommended for optimal and long-lasting results.
Is a Chemical Peel right for me?
There are many different types of peels available. Some peels are lighter that exfoliate the surface layers while other penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin. At Chateau Glow, we offer enzymatic and superficial peels. With our peels, you'll likely experience little to no downtime with minimal shedding. However, this is not indicative of your results. When the skin is properly prepped, less peeling is expected, and that's completely normal!
Chemical peels are not suitable for clients who are pregnant or nursing.

Enhance Your Results
How to prep your skin before treatment
Proper skin preparation is essential to ensure the safety and effectiveness of your chemical peel. In order to maximize your results and maintain the integrity of your skin, we recommend to:
-
Avoid AHA’s/BHA’s, exfoliation and retinoids for 72 hours before your peel
-
Avoid excessive sun exposure for at least 5 days - treatments can not be performed if there is an active sunburn
-
Peels can not be performed if you have received a chemical peel or laser service within the two weeks prior to your scheduled service.
-
Ensure you are not pregnant or nursing prior to your service
How to care for your skin after treatment
Caring for your skin after a chemical peel is just as important as the treatment itself. Because chemical peels accelerate cell turnover and reveal fresh, delicate skin, it’s essential to protect and support your skin during the healing process. To care for and protect your skin post peel, we recommend to:
-
Avoid makeup application for the remainder of the day
-
Avoid working out and saunas/steam rooms for 24-48 hours
-
Avoid excessive sun exposure for 7 days
-
Avoid active ingredients: vitamin C, AHA’s/BHA’s, exfoliating and retinoids for 4-5 days
-
Avoid facial laser, waxing and threading for 7 days
-
Avoid picking/popping any breakouts or peeling any shedding skin
